A Home Away From Home: The Casita Azul Difference

We know the first drop-off is a big moment. Your arms feel a little empty on the walk back to the car, and your mind is full of questions. Will she be okay? Will he make a friend? Will someone notice if he needs an extra hug? Will she really stop crying once I leave? We know all of these feelings well, because we're parents too, and we’ve asked all of these questions ourselves. This is why we built Casita Azul to be the place we wanted for our own children, a home away from home.

A Second Home

We've been told there's a feeling you get when you walk into a classroom at one of our centers or home based daycares that tells you this is the place. Maybe it's because a teacher lights up when they see your little one walk in. Or a friend is already waving from across the room, saving them a spot. Or possibly also the smells of the homecooked meals coming from the kitchen. It's the kind of warmth that makes goodbye hugs turn into happy waves, because your child knows exactly who's waiting for them inside: a teacher who knows their favorite song and snack and friends who feel like family.

Year after year, those same faces greet them each morning, so the bonds only grow deeper and school begins to feel more like a second home than a rushed drop-off at daycare.

One of the reasons Casita Azul feels like a home away from home is because our teachers stay. Ninety-nine percent of our educators return year after year. As an employee-owned school, our teachers are partners with a stake in this community's success. That kind of stability means the teacher who dries today's tears is the same one who'll cheer at your child's kindergarten send-off.

Spanish Immersion, Wrapped in Warmth

That same sense of belonging carries into how your child learns. Spanish immersion is the sound of daily life here: the songs at circle time, the words at snack, the laughter on the playground. Your child is surrounded by culture and care in equal measure, so bilingualism grows naturally, alongside confidence and connection.

You Belong Here, Too

Casita Azul isn't just a school for your child, it's a family for you. Trust us when we say that the tears at drop-off are often gone long before snack time. Come see it for yourself, schedule a tour and feel the warmth we're talking about - we’re excited to meet you!

About Casita Azul

Casita Azul is a family-founded, employee-owned Spanish-immersion school serving children from infancy through preschool with campuses in Hillsboro, Tanasbourne, and Beaverton and a network of in-home casitas. Founded in 2018, Casita Azul creates a home away from home where children learn through play, culture, and connection and guided by caring teachers who stay: 99% of our educators return year after year, and looping keeps children with the same teacher as they grow. In September 2027, our journey extends through 5th grade with Spanish Horizons Academy, our K-5 expeditionary Spanish-immersion elementary school in Hillsboro.
